Catalogue of Failures

Failure is part of science, and it should be normalised. Often on social media, we only see the congratualtions and adulations of those who have succeeded professionally, academically and scientifically. Through only trumpeting our successes creates an awful environment of unachievable high expectations. This leads to undue stress and pressure and may lead to scientific misconduct. Although I would have very much wished to succeed in all the endeavors below, each one was a chance to improve and learn.

Here is a list of Glenn’s professional failures to date. Personal failings are another matter altogether.
